My Top 10 Book Recommendations for Personal Growth

As We head into the New Year we all want to get off on the right foot. In my post "#momgoals The Hard Truths" I had recommended to you that personal development is always a great way to keep a positive mindset as you venture into this New Year and try to make positive changes in your life. I can't say enough about this and how even 10 minutes of reading or listening to personal development can change your whole mindset for the day. So with that said here are some of my top picks for you to start recharging your soul and getting you on the right track to reach your goals and dreams this year!

Now this list provides both books that are great for shifting your mindset, but also for spiritual uplifting as well as just for fun!

Let me know what you think!

1. Girl Wash Your Face by Rachel Holllis
She also has a second book being released soon called Girl Stop Apologizing. Pop on over to her Social Media accounts as well as her website. She's fabulous, fun, and brutally honest at times. Love her! She recently has had a screening of her "Made for More Movement" in theaters and has a wonderful podcast you can follow. Her book talks about how to stop apologizing for having your dreams and start taking action on what you want in your life. Great book!

2. 100 Days to Brave by Annie F. Downs
This is a quick read, perfect for you if you're busy always on the go like myself. Takes 5 minutes to read 2 quick pages a day and a few minutes to sit and pray before you start your day. A must.

3. Quiet Moments with God- A devotional
I've had this book FOREVER and pick it up every day, sometimes rereading pages I've already read. Short snippets of stories that you can always relate to about day to day life situations. This helps give you a different perspective on things.

4. The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod
Great for helping you get up in the morning, get motivated, and change your mindset for the day. He has some wonderful podcasts and videos out there of speeches he's provided. Many of us struggle to get up and going in the morning (me, me, me), but if you're morning is productive the rest of your day is going to be productive. It's the truth. He shares with you how to get going in the morning, simple routines to implement, and make the most of your day.

5. The Slight Edge by Jeff Ohslon
This book is all about changing your mindset and way of thinking that enables you to make daily choices that will bring you closer to the success and happiness that you've always desired. Learn why some people make dream after dream come true and how you can start having the same success.

6. You Are A Badass by Jen Sincero
Girl, your bad ass. Know this! You are capable of great things and that is what this book discusses. Don't worry all the time. Don't stress. Know your capabilities and get out there and attack your life. You are capable of making big things happen, just believe in it.

7, The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren
This book focuses on how you were put here with a purpose. From the time you were born God has had a plan for you. He has put you here on this earth with a plan in his mind. This book talks to you about how God longs for you to discover the life he has created for you and you'll learn just how to do that.

8. Whatever The Cost by David and Jason Benam
This book shares with us the story of twin brothers that thought they were going to be professional baseball players but God had other plans. Their lives took a different turn. We join them as they share their journey with humor through life events that shaped their life. We are shown through faith how God has a plan for us, an amazing plan, and we have to trust in him to take chances. Inspiring., uplifting, and funny.

9. Present Over Perfect by Shauna Niequist
I haven't read this yet, but it's on my must read list so I wanted to share it with you as well. I've heard great things! This discusses leaving behind the frantic ways of life for a more simplified way of living. Living in the moment and not worrying about trying to always be "perfect".

10. The Compound Effect by Darren Hardy
This discusses how small things over time build and compound to greater bigger things. That each little thing you do on a daily basis can build to make GREAT things happen in your life. Things don't happen all at once, but they build over time so be patient.

~Much Love,
xoxo
